Membership
An Optimist club exists only as long as it reenergizes itself with new members. New members bring with them new ideas and new enthusiasm. When clubs fail to welcome new blood, they eventually fail, and that means the children of the community lose the opportunity to take part in the Optimist-sponsored activities.
The Optimist club of Des Plaines is open to any man or woman over the age of 18. Our members come from many different backgrounds, and all bring with their own special talents. We meet the first
Thursday of every month at Silver Stallion in Des Plaines on Lee Street and the third Thursday of the month at
St. Martin's Church on Thacker in Des Plaines.
Dues are seventy dollars yearly, prorated from October 1st. There is a one time fifteen dollar processing fee charged by Optimist International. If you are looking for an opportunity to improve the life of children in this community, and want to do so while experiencing uncommon fun and fellowship, than I urge you to contact us and attend a meeting as our guest.
We will be having a NOW dinner - New Optimists Welcome, where we will not only answer any questions that you may have, but the Essay contest winner and both Oratorical Winners will be present with their Essay's and speeches. Call for more details or questions 847-824-7050.
In optimism,
John Del Re
